Smartphones continue to improve their features, which sometimes leads to unexpected solutions. So, for example, the new model Nubia RedMagic 8S Pro will be able to offer more RAM than most even gaming computers.
The RedMagic 8S Pro is a more powerful version of the already well-equipped RedMagic 8 Pro. But the new model takes the characteristics to a new level: the 8S Pro has 24 GB of RAM in the maximum configuration (16 is installed in the basic version).
For comparison, as of June 2023, the average computer of a Steam user has 16 GB RAM. That is, the “older” version of the smartphone from Nubia is already able to provide more RAM. This is not to mention laptops, where many models are still equipped with a smaller amount of RAM.
According to the manufacturer, players may need so much RAM in a smartphone. It is also worth considering the features of the Android OS, which will not keep applications “in the background” for a long time. Moreover, it can cause more energy consumption. But they won’t break their own records either, especially given the fact that competing smartphones have yet to break the 16 GB RAM mark.
Along with this, Nubia RedMagic 8S Pro also contains an overclocked version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Previously, only Samsung flagships received this, where, as in Nubia, the clock frequency of the most powerful core is 3.36 GHz (when in standard versions it is 3.2 GHz). Nubia did not stop there, so the smartphone also has an active cooling system with a speed of up to 20,000 rotations per minute (and RBG backlighting, of course), which is generally rare for smartphones.
This smartphone also has a 6.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2480×1116 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120 GHz and a sensor polling rate of up to 960 Hz. A large battery with a capacity of 6,000 mAh can surprise you with support for 165-watt charging, which should fully charge the smartphone in just 14 minutes.
For now, such a model will be exclusive to the Chinese market, the maximum cost of which will be slightly more than $1,000.
