Poland received the first 14 M1A1 Abrams tanks at the port of the city of Szczecin near the border with Germany. This is reported by Ministry of Defense of Poland.

These are the first of 116 used M1A1 Abrams tanks, which Poland ordered while waiting for the delivery of 250 of the latest M1A2 Abrams SEP V3. This contract was announced a year ago in June 2022, at the same time that the first training vehicles for crew training arrived in Poland.

As for the 250 M1A2 Abrams SEP V3 tanks and their corresponding equipment worth almost $6 billion, these tanks still need to be manufactured and delivered. The first vehicles will leave the assembly line only at the end of 2024 and will arrive in Poland no earlier than the beginning of 2025.

The M1A1 Abrams tanks as well as the new M1A2 Abrams SEP V3 are intended to strengthen the 18th mechanized division of the Polish Army.
