Game studio Ubisoft has announced that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the video game adaptation of James Cameron’s film franchise, will be released on December 7. The announcement was made during the Ubisoft Forward event, where a new trailer was shown that gave a glimpse of the first-person action-adventure.

The game allows you to explore the bright world of Pandora as the Na’vi, the indigenous humanoid species of the planet. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora introduces an entirely new storyline. Players embark on a journey through the Western Frontier, a part of Pandora that no one has seen before.

The game world is described as a lively and dynamic environment inhabited by unique creatures and new characters. Players will face the formidable forces of the RDA that pose a threat to Pandora. The game also offers an online co-op mode that allows you to go through the entire story with a friend.

Ubisoft also shared a 6-minute video with additional gameplay footage.

The game was first teased in June 2021 and was originally slated for a 2022 release, potentially coinciding with the December 2022 release of the highly anticipated movie Avatar: The Way of Water. However, according to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemo, the game was delayed to polish the release.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
