For a long time, foldable smartphones of the Samsung Galaxy Flip format had rather limited capabilities of external displays. These screens have only recently begun to increase significantly, and currently the “older” model Motorola Razr 40 Ultra already reveals their potential much better. But Samsung is also working on its own answer.

The next Samsung Galaxy Flip5 model should also get a larger external display with a diagonal of 3.4 inches. But exactly what capabilities it will be given is still an open question.

According to information of the SamMobile edition, Samsung is working with Google to adapt some applications to the external screen of the Galaxy Flip5. These will include Google Maps, Google Messages and YouTube. The company is also working on optimizing its proprietary applications for a smaller external display.

At the same time, it is still unclear to what extent such a Samsung Galaxy Flip5 display will be able to compete with the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra screen. Firstly, Motorola has it slightly larger (3.6 inches), and secondly, Motorola has done a good job on the ability to run various applications on the external display.

You don’t have to wait long for a new product from Samsung, because the next Unpacked event will take place in Seoul at the end of July.
