Music streaming company Spotify is finally officially testing a playlist that automatically downloads some of the most recently played tracks. This is reported by TechCrunch.

“We’ve been testing out a new feature called “Your Offline Mix” – a playlist designed for those times when you might not be online,” wrote the company’s CEO Daniel Ek on Twitter.

He also posted a screenshot showing that the playlist can store several hours of music. This can be convenient when a person has forgotten to download music and is not able to do it immediately.

Apparently, some users have already seen the new feature in their apps. But it is not yet clear where exactly Spotify is deploying the offline mix and what its availability will be.

Work on the function of offline mixes was reported back in 2020. However, it has not yet been launched.

We will remind you that earlier Spotify announced a new feature called AI DJ. It will provide users with a personalized playlist along with commentary on the tracks, which will be voiced in an “amazingly realistic voice.”
