This fall, Google plans to release the second generation of the Pixel Watch, along with Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones. It is reported that the novelty will receive a chipset of the Snapdragon W5 series. It is possible that this will be the W5+ Gen 1 version that recently debuted in the TicWatch Pro 5.

This chip is built according to the 4 nm technological process, has four A53 cores that work at a frequency of 1.7 GHz, and Adreno 702 graphics. For comparison, the Exynos 9110 chip, which is installed in the first generation Pixel Watch, is built according to the 10 nm technological process and has two core A53.

Such changes should have a positive effect on the battery life of the Pixel Watch 2. And this is good news, because for the first generation, Google claims only 24 hours of operation from a single charge. In addition, Wear OS 4 should run faster and smoother on the smartwatch thanks to the new chipset. Pixel Watch 2 is also credited with similar sensors for monitoring health, which are installed in Fitbit Sense 2.
