At the Society for Information Display Week 2023 event in Los Angeles, TCL presented its first automotive display. It has a diagonal of 47.5″ and a width of 1.4 meters, and the main thing is that it is one whole screen. For example, the 56″ display that Mercedes installs in the EQS and EQE models technically consists of three separate screens that are under a single piece of the glass panel.

The TCL display has a slight rounding — the radius is 4200R. It is fully sensory. At most, it can be used simultaneously by the driver and the passenger. The Mini LED matrix has 3,000 local dimming zones, a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, and 8K resolution, which is the highest in the automotive industry, if the company is to be believed.

The novelty should save the resources of automakers and simplify the task of assembling a car because it is a single and easy-to-install unit. TCL did not reveal details about which brands of cars we will be able to see these displays in or how soon they will be ready for mass production.
