Smartphones of the Motorola brand are quite exotic for the Ukrainian market. But the manufacturer still appears in local stores, and in the summer it will offer the newly presented new model Motorola Edge 40.
Edge 40 is a slightly simplified version of the recently presented Edge 40 Pro model. Here, the buyer will be offered a different processor, a slightly simpler display and fewer cameras. However, the device is still quite interesting.
There are two versions of the case to choose from: synthetic leather in Eclipse Black and Nebula Green colors, or Lunar Blue acrylic coating. In each case, the case has an aluminum chassis and IP68 water and dust protection. The dimensions of the device are minimally dependent on the material chosen, where the options with artificial leather are 158.43×71.99×7.58 mm with a weight of 171 grams, while the acrylic is thinner (7.49 mm) and slightly lighter (167 grams).
The 6.55-inch display has curved sides. The installed pOLED matrix received a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The matrix can boast a DCI-P3 color profile, a refresh rate of 144 Hz, a sensor polling rate of 360 Hz, and a peak brightness of up to 1200 cd/m², which will also provide support for HDR10+.
The device is capable of reproducing stereo sound and has 3 microphones.
The unit of the main cameras has two sensors: wide-angle with a resolution of 50 MP, ƒ/1.4 and optical stabilization, as well as ultra-wide-angle with 13 MP, ƒ/2.2, a capture angle of 120° and macro mode. The front camera has 32 MP with an aperture value of ƒ/2.4.
Inside the device is a 6-nanometer MediaTek Dimensity 8020 processor, 8 GB of LPDDR4X standard RAM, and a 256-gigabyte UFS 3.1 drive. The gadget supports 5G, has two slots for SIM cards (one of which can be an eSIM), Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, several navigation systems and NFC.
The battery capacity in Edge 40 is 4400 mAh. The smartphone supports fast wired charging with a power of up to 68 W, as well as 15 W induction. The set includes a suitable power supply unit.
The exact date of the start of sales of Motorola Edge 40 in Ukraine is not yet available, as well as the price level. Although orders have already started in Europe, you can become the owner of such a smartphone for €599.99 (which is €300 cheaper than its Pro version).
