Since the release of foldable smartphones from Motorola, the devices did not have the most powerful chips. But last year’s update could already offer Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. And it seems that this time there will be no “fresher” chip.

According to the information from XDA, the “older” model of this year — the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra — will also see the light of day with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. It will be complemented by a combination of 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. All this will work with the Android 13 OS, which will be complemented by the proprietary My UX interface.

The battery capacity of the device will be 3,640 mAh and there will be support for 33-watt fast charging. The smartphone will also offer options with two slots for SIM cards, or with a physical card and eSIM. All variants will have NFC support and fingerprint scanners.

The publication does not specify the exact size of the displays, but has their resolution. The internal AMOLED screen will have 2640×1080 pixels, support HDR and a high refresh rate (120 or 144 Hz). At the same time, the resolution of the external display will be 1056×1066 pixels.

Moreover, it will be possible to run any applications on the external display, even if they are not adapted for it (although the smartphone will warn that such an application may not work correctly). Now the user will have access to many variations of customizing the interface to his own preferences.

This year, the smartphone will also learn to recognize the degree of opening the case and in certain positions will offer additional behavior options for some applications, as its main competitor, the Samsung Galaxy Flip4, already does.

In total, the smartphone will have three cameras. The two external ones will contain Sony IMX563 sensors with a resolution of 12 MP, and SK Hynix Hi1336 — 13 MP. The internal selfie camera will have 32 MP —OmniVision OV32B40.

The choice of the smartphone will also be diversified with three options of body colors — Blue, Black, and Barberry. The company is rapidly preparing for the launch of new models.

But the specifications of the “younger” version of this smartphone are still unknown.
