Google I/O is just around the corner, so it is not surprising that the number of insiders about new Google gadgets has increased significantly in recent weeks. In particular, we already know almost everything about the new budget smartphone Pixel 7a.

The device should receive a 6.1″ display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz – an upgrade compared to the Pixel 6a. The Tensor G2 chipset, which debuted last year in the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, will be responsible for the performance. The amount of LPDDR5 RAM will increase from 6 GB to 8 GB. But the capacity of the UFS 3.1 drive will remain at 128 GB.

Pixel 7a cameras will also get improvements. The resolution of the main sensor will be 64 MP, and the ultra-wide-angle sensor will be 13 MP. We will remind, Pixel 6a offered two 12 MP modules. The front camera will now have a resolution of 10.8 MP and will receive the Face Unlock function.

The expected battery capacity in Pixel 7a is 4400 mAh. The speed of wired charging will increase minimally – from 18 W to 20 W. Support for wireless charging is also announced.

Pixel 7a will be offered in three colors: Arctic Blue, Carbon and Cotton. The price of the smartphone will be $499 ($50 more than its predecessor). The novelty will go on sale on May 11, the day after Google I/O 2023.
