Video conferences in Google Meet will now become even clearer thanks to the new streaming option in 1080p. However, it can currently be enjoyed only by Google One users who have at least 2 TB of cloud storage space, as well as owners of Workspace premium subscriptions.

Of course, in order to take advantage of the new functionality, you will need a webcam with a Full HD resolution. A reliable and fast internet connection is also required, as more data is transferred when sending 1080p video. If bandwidth is limited, Google Meet will automatically adjust the resolution.

When streaming in 1080p, you will see a corresponding status in the upper right corner of the screen. You can turn off Full HD mode in the settings menu.

Google Meet has added the option of streaming in Full HD quality for users of Google One 2 TB and above

1080p streaming is available for the following users:

  • Google One subscription holders with 2 TB or more of cloud storage
  • Google Workspace users: Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Starter, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, the Teaching and Learning Upgrade, Education Plus, Enterprise Essentials та Frontline
