The competition in the foldable smartphone market is becoming more serious, because more and more companies are introducing new, more advanced versions of their gadgets. In particular, Vivo presented the second generation of the X Fold model, as well as the new X Flip.
X Fold2 received the main 8.03″ E6 AMOLED display with a resolution of 2160×1916 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The aspect ratio is 4:3.55. The new folding mechanism is lighter and at the same time more reliable than its predecessors, the X Fold and X Fold+ models.
The external 6.53″ AMOLED screen has a resolution of 2520×1080 pixels, a frequency of 120 Hz and an aspect ratio of 21:9. Both panels have a built-in ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and a 16 MP front camera. Inside the smartphone is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 12 GB of RAM memory and a drive with a capacity of up to 512 GB.
The camera block consists of three modules. The main 50MP IMX866V sensor has optical stabilization and Zeiss T* coating on the lens. There’s also a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12MP portrait camera with 2x optical zoom. The capacity of the X Fold2 battery is 4800 mAh. There is support for 120 W wired and 50 W wireless charging.
Vivo X Fold2 is offered in three colors. The price is $1,308 for the 12/256 GB version and $1,453 for the 12/512 GB version.
Vivo X Flip is equipped with a main 6.74″ LTPO AMOLED display (Full HD+, 120 Hz) and a 3″ external AMOLED screen. The latter can be used to launch various applications, such as navigation or social networks. So users can do more tasks without having to open the home screen.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset is responsible for the performance of the device. 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage are available. The main 50 MP IMX866V sensor is complemented by a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The front camera has a resolution of 32 MP. The battery capacity is 4400 mAh, 44 W charging is supported.
The Vivo X Flip is priced at $872 (12/256GB) or $973 (12/512GB).
