Valve has released a major Dota 2 update called New Frontiers. It contains a new map that is 40% larger than the previous one, and it should cause significant changes in the Dota 2 metagame.
“The core objective of the game remains the same,” assures Valve — “your lanes aren’t further away from each other, and everything you need to win is still in the center of the map.”
The New Frontiers update includes a new map, major changes to gameplay, matchmaking, user interface, changes to favorite heroes and their mechanics, new item and monster types, balance changes, and more. You can see a list of everything that appeared in patch 7.33 on Dota 2 website.
After the release of New Frontiers, the number of players in Dota 2, which is usually around 600 thousand on Fridays, is approaching 800,000. We will remind you that the record for the number of Dota 2 online players was set 7 years ago during The International tournament – 1,295,114 players.
