Elon Musk plans to launch his own generative artificial intelligence TruthGPT, which, according to the entrepreneur’s plans, should become a safer version of existing chatbots. This is reported by The Washington Post.

”I think that this might be the best path to safety in the sense that an AI that cares about understanding the universe is unlikely to annihilate humans because we are an interesting part of the universe,” the publication quoted the American entrepreneur as saying.

In a recent interview with Fox News, he expressed concern about how this direction of the industry is developing. According to Musk, large language models learn to be “politically correct” or untruthful. Instead, his AI should be different.

“I’m going to start something which I call TruthGPT, or a maximum truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe,” the billionaire noted.

Last month, Elon Musk, along with other business leaders and scientists, signed a letter to halt the development of generative artificial intelligence. He also stopped his participation in the company OpenAI and criticized its CEO Sam Altman.

“AI is more dangerous than say mismanaged aircraft design or production maintenance or bad car production. It has the potential of civilizational destruction,” warned an outstanding engineer.

As you know, Elon Musk previously founded a new artificial intelligence company called X.AI Corp. The organisation, the sole director of which is a prominent entrepreneur, received permission to sell 100 million shares as a private company. Recently, the entrepreneur has been actively recruiting researchers in an effort to create competition for OpenAI, which is known for its ChatGPT chatbot.
