Sedans are back in fashion. Hyundai Ioniq 6 recently went on sale, and soon Volkswagen ID.7 will compete with it. The German automaker has been actively teasing a novelty in recent months. But on the eve of the official premiere, which will take place on April 17 in China, photos and specifications of the car were leaked on the Internet.

The ID.7 is built on the updated MEB modular platform. This is already the sixth all-electric model from Volkswagen. It will complement the line of electric cars, which currently consists of ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, ID.6 and ID.Buzz. The flagship sedan will be offered in all key markets: Europe, China and North America.

Volkswagen calls the ID.7 an “electric limousine”, emphasizing the efficiency and power of the car, which should be perfect for long-distance journeys. They promise up to 700 km of distance on one full charge according to the WLTP cycle.

In China, new cars must obtain permits from the local regulator. Each month, photos and specifications of models that are undergoing the homologation process are published. Thanks to this, we can see the ID.7 without camouflage a few days before its presentation.

Visually, the ID.7 is very similar to the concept ID.Aero, which is its prototype. The electric car will be offered in a two-color version – with a black roof. Car dimensions: 4956x1862x1537 mm, wheelbase length 2965 mm, weight 2590 kg. The sedan will receive a battery with a capacity of 77 kWh, electric motors with a capacity of 201 hp. and a maximum speed of 155 km/h.

The Volkswagen ID.7 is expected to go on sale in Europe towards the end of this year.
