Last year was not easy for the smartphone market either. In Europe, sales decreased by 17%. But there were even more problems for individual brands, in particular for the BBK concern. So, for example, the fall in sales of OPPO in the European region amounted to 39% in the fourth quarter.

Additional difficulties for OnePlus and OPPO were added by patent litigation, which even suspended sales in Germany. There are similar lawsuits in Great Britain, Finland, Sweden, and the Netherlands, but there they did not affect smartphone sales.

Now 36Krypton, citing its own sources within the company, reports that the companies intend to leave some European countries. This applies to at least Germany, Great Britain, France and the Netherlands.

However, the official position so far denies such rumors:

OPPO and OnePlus are committed to all the existing European markets and the UK. We had a great start in 2023 with the successful launches of several products in Europe and have a line-up of upcoming products for the rest of the year. As always, OPPO and OnePlus will continue to provide more innovative products and the best-in-class service for users moving forward.

Latest launch of OPPO Find X6 did not even talk about plans for global sales, which may also be related to considering the company’s future strategy. And the future tablet Oneplus Pad should still reach the European market.
