According to Carscoops‘s information, the next-generation Volkswagen Passat will receive the designation B9 and will make its debut in September of this year. Sales will begin near the end of 2023 or early 2024. Moreover, only station wagons, which have already caught the eye of car photo spies several times, will be available to buyers.

The new Volkswagen Passat will significantly increase in size and will have a related model, the Skoda Superb. By the way, the latter will preserve the option of choosing a body type – a liftback or station wagon. But as far as Volkswagen is concerned, the place of the Passat sedan should definitely be taken by an electric car Volkswagen ID.7: this separation within the Volkswagen model range looks logical.

Among other things: further implementation of hybrid models is expected. For example, the plug-in hybrid of the new Volkswagen Passat should receive a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor with a total capacity of approximately 280 hp, an increased battery and an autonomous electric drive range of up to 100 km. However, more information will appear during the official debut of the model.
