Lenovo announced the next, eighth generation of Lenovo Legion Slim gaming laptops. Among other things, this is the first generation to include a chip from the Lenovo Artificial Intelligence (LA) family. These are built-in chips with artificial intelligence that enable the Lenovo AI Engine+ technology to work – it dynamically adjusts the Lenovo Legion ColdFront 5.0 thermal system to optimize cooling during operation and maintain maximum performance with minimal noise.

All Lenovo Legion Slim series laptops are equipped with an SD slot, support fast battery charging technology, and come with three months of free access to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Lenovo Legion Slim 7i and 7 — these laptops are offered on two platforms: the 7i in the maximum configuration is available with a 13th generation Intel Core i9-13900H processor, and the 7 with an AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS. Both devices run Windows 11, have NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 discrete graphics (TDP 115 W), and up to 32 GB DDR5-5600 RAM. The 16-inch screen has an aspect ratio of 16:10 and is offered in two versions: with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, a refresh rate of 240 Hz, and a brightness of 500 nits, or with a resolution of 3200×2000 pixels, a refresh rate of 165 Hz, a brightness of 430 nits and with 100% DCI-P3 color standard coverage.

The advanced ColdFront 5.0 cooling system includes four copper hybrid heat pipes, a phase-change thermal compound, and a new air intake and fan system with 90 blades – thanks to which the fan noise in performance mode will not exceed 48 dB. The built-in Lenovo LA AI AI chip dynamically adjusts thermal performance to maximize frame rates and minimize noise, so Lenovo Legion Slim 7i and 7 achieve thermal power of up to 140W.

The battery with a capacity of 99.99 Wh, according to the manufacturer, will provide autonomous operation for up to 10 hours, and thanks to the Super Rapid Charge technology, a full charge will take only 80 minutes. Despite all this, the laptops are quite light and compact: the maximum thickness of the case is 19.9 mm, and the weight is less than 2 kg.

Lenovo Legion Slim 5i and 5 are also offered with a screen diagonal of 16″, in addition, the “five” in this generation has a new configuration – with a 14-inch OLED screen. The 5i in the maximum configuration is available with a 13th generation Intel Core i7-13700H processor, and the 5 with an AMD Ryzen 9 7840HS. Both models are available with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 or 4060 laptop GPU, while the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 also supports a full AMD configuration with an AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT GPU.

The lineup also features the Legion ColdFront 5.0 cooling system and the LA1 AI chip that monitors the temperature to dynamically distribute power between the CPU and GPU to optimize performance and minimize fan noise. A graphics processor with lower power (GeForce RTX 4050 or 3050) is also available, thanks to which the laptop body becomes even thinner (from 19.7 mm) and lighter (2.3 kg).

The 16-inch screen has a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, an aspect ratio of 16:10, a brightness of 500 nits, and a refresh rate of up to 240 Hz. The battery with a capacity of up to 80 Wh provides up to 8 hours of battery life and also supports Super Rapid Charge technology. Additionally, the laptops have a USB-C port with 140W charging support, so you can leave the charger at home if you want more mobility.
