An-2 “Kukurudznyk” appeared in Microsoft Flight Simulator

On March 21, 2023, another Ukrainian aircraft appeared in the game Microsoft Flight Simulator – An-2 “Kukurudznyk”.

An-2 “Kukurudznyk” is the largest single-engine biplane in the world. Its development began on May 31, 1946, and now this day is considered the birthday of the O.K. Antonov Design Bureau. The aircraft took off for the first time on August 31, 1947. From 1947 to 2001, more than 18,000 An-2s were manufactured in the USSR, Poland, and the People’s Republic of China. China still manufactures its own version of the An-2 called the Shijiazhuang Y-5B. The Ukrainian version with the new MS-14 engine produced by Motor-Sich is called An-2-100.

In Microsoft Flight Simulator, An-2 is presented in a normal version, a hydroplane version and with skis for landing on snow-covered strips. Among the liveries available is the livery of Antonov Airlines (there is even a “Seagull Aeroclub” sticker on the inside of the cockpit door).

The cost of adding An-2 in the Microsoft Flight Simulator store is UAH 385, but right now you can get the plane with a discount of only UAH 250.

We will remind you that at the end of February 2023, on the anniversary of the destruction, An-225 “Mriya” appeared in Microsoft Flight Simulator. All money received from the sales of this DLC will benefit the Antonov State Enterprise.

Let’s hope that the cooperation between “Antonov” and Microsoft/Asobo will not stop with these two aircraft, and we will also see An-10 “Ukraina”, An-14 “Bdzhilka”, An-22 “Antei” and, of course, An-124 “Ruslan” in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
