Previously, if you wanted to customize the subtitles on Netflix, you had to go to your account settings in your browser. Not the most convenient way, given that many users watch movies and series on TV.

However, Netflix has updated the app and you can now customize the subtitles directly on the TV. You can choose from three text sizes and four styles of its display with or without shadows. One of the options, in particular, allows you to make the subtitles yellow on a black background. This option is provided if you do not have enough contrast with the standard display.

To change the appearance of the subtitles, you need to start the movie or series, go to the settings at the bottom of the screen, and then you can make adjustments. Netflix notes that it is currently not possible to customize the subtitle for the following languages: Arabic, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Romanian, Thai and Traditional Chinese.
