Sonos has officially presented its new flagship speakers. The Era 300 and Era 100 models are supposed to provide “sound of a new level” and also offer good technical specifications.

The top speaker Era 300 was equipped with six class D amplifiers and six drivers (four tweeters and two woofers), which provide surround sound from different directions. Plus there is support for Dolby Atmos. In general, the company places a serious emphasis on surround sound technology. The speaker is able to analyze the room in which it is located and adjust the equalizer for the best possible sound. The maximum effect can be achieved by combining two Era 300s in a stereo pair, or by connecting other Sonos audio devices to them (in 5.1.4 or 7.1.4 configurations).

Era 300 is equipped with Wi-Fi 6 modules, Bluetooth 5.0, a USB-C port (3.5 mm adapter or 3.5 mm + Ethernet adapter sold separately), and an array of microphones for voice control (you can choose Alexa or Sonos’ own voice control). There is support for AirPlay 2 technology for quick connection to Apple gadgets and Siri/HomeKit operation. On top of the speaker, there are touch keys for control.

The younger model Era 100 cannot boast of supporting surround audio and Dolby Atmos technology, but it also has good specifications. The speaker received three class D amplifiers, two tweeters, and one mid-woofer. It is possible to combine two Era 100s in a stereo pair, or to combine two Era 100s with other Sonos audio devices. The rest of the specifications correspond to the older model: Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, AirPlay 2, and Alexa/Sonos voice control.
