Recently, information was leaked about the preparation by the Realme brand of its version of the iPhone feature — Dynamic Island — a software solution that visually integrates the cutout for the front camera and Face ID sensors into the interface of the operating system. And today the company really released a smartphone with such an analogue. The model was called Realme C55, and the function was called Mini Capsule.

Quite expectedly, the Mini Capsule has less capabilities (so far) than its prototype. Through it, the smartphone will display notifications about the low battery level, charging status, Internet traffic consumption, and later will also add to this the number of steps walked and the distance covered for the day.

It is worth noting that the iPhone 14 Pro makes much more active use of Dynamic Island, which is supported by various applications that can also “deploy” in the form of a widget with separate functions (controlling music playback, for example) or additional information. So the Mini Capsule’s list of capabilities is still inferior to the Dynamic Island.

Among other things, the Realme C55 will offer a 6.72-inch IPS display (Full HD, with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a maximum illumination level of 680 cd/m²), a Helio G88 processor, 6/8 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB in the drive (with the possibility of expansion with a microSD memory card up to 1 TB). Realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13 is used here as an OS.

This model did not get many cameras. At the back, there is only a wide-angle 64-megapixel sensor, which cooperates with an additional sensor for measuring the depth of the picture. The resolution of the front camera is 8 MP.

In addition, the manufacturer emphasizes NFC support and a 3.5 mm jack for connecting wired headphones (which is really not so often found in modern smartphones).

Also, for the first time for this line of smartphones from the manufacturer, the C55 has support for faster SuperVOOC charging with a capacity of 33 W. At the same time, the battery capacity is 5,000 mAh.

Realme C55 became the first Android smartphone with an analogue of Apple Dynamic Island - Mini Capsule

Sales of the new product will begin on March 8 in Indonesia at a price of $160 and $195, depending on the memory configuration. Customers will be offered Rainy Night and Sunshower color options.
