Dead Island 2 – a game that has been in development for… 11 years, was supposed to be released back in 2015 and has already changed three development studios during this time, seems to be confidently moving towards the release.

Finally, the authors demonstrated a really large piece of gameplay, which causes persistent deja vu. This is the same Dead Island (2011), only improved and expanded, or a more colorful version of Techland’s recent Dying Light 2 Stay Human if you want. By the way, while other studios dealt with Dead Island 2, the authors of the original game managed to make Dead Island: Riptide (2013), Dying Light (2015), and Dying Light 2 Stay Human (2022), and this is not counting various DLC and experimental projects.

As for the release date, Dead Island 2 was originally planned (this is the latest iteration of development, the one led by Dambuster Studios since 2019) to be released on February 3, 2023. It was then pushed back to April 28, 2023, for further polishing, and now moved again, but a week earlier. That is, Dead Island 2 should finally be released on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S already on April 21, 2023.
