Telegram for macOS has received a new Power Saving Mode, which should reduce the power consumption of the application. The update is available in Telegram 9.4.1 version.

In power-saving mode, the application turns off various animations, autoplay of videos and gifs, and other interface effects. As a result, Telegram uses less hardware resources and consumes energy more economically.

Power Saving Mode can be customized. For example, enable automatic activation of the mode when the charge of the MacBook reaches a certain level. In addition, you can leave GIFs autoplaying, but disable this function for video files, or remove only interface animations.

Energy saving mode can be useful not only for owners of laptops, but also for old desktops, because turning off unnecessary effects will slightly increase the speed of Telegram.
