The German concern Rheinmetall, one of the largest weapons manufacturers in the world with a 133-year history, is very keen to sell heavy weapons to Ukraine. Even the most modern. There was information that the government of Ukraine is negotiating with Rheinmetall regarding the purchase of promising Panther KF51 tanks, which should replace the modern Leopard 2, and the latest Lynx KF41 IFV. This is reported by Militarnyi with reference to the German newspaper Handelsblatt Business.

“Ukraine is interested in Lynx and Panther – the most modern infantry fighting vehicles and battle tanks,” the media quotes the words of Armin Papperger, executive director of the Rheinmetall concern.

Apparently, negotiations are ongoing, and after their conclusion, the German government will have to approve the export of armored vehicles. With a positive decision, Rheinmetall predicts the first delivery of the Panther KF51 in 15-18 months and even suggests the possibility of opening a tank assembly and repair plant in Kyiv!
