Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok has won the first-ever Grammy for game soundtrack

In 2023, the American Recording Academy added a new category to the list of Grammy awards – the Grammy Award for Best Soundtrack to video games and other interactive media. Composer Stephanie Economou became the first-ever music Oscar winner in this category for the soundtrack to the Dawn of Ragnarok add-on for Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla game.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok competed in this category with music from such games as Aliens: Fireteam Elite (composed by Austin Wintory), Call of Duty Vanguard (composed by Bear McCreery), Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (composed by Richard Jacques) and Old World (composer Christopher Tin).

Stephanie Economou has written music for Manhunt: Deadly Games series, Marvel 616 documentary, Jupiter’s Legacy series, The Meg, The Equalizer 2, and The Martian movies. And of course to DLC Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – The Siege of Paris and Dawn of Ragnarök.
