In the south of Turkey, in the province of Kahramanmaraş on the border with Syria, a series of powerful earthquakes occurred. We are talking about dozens of aftershocks, the most powerful of which were 7.9 and 7.6 points. They occured on February 6, 2023, at 3:28 a.m. and 12:24 p.m., respectively.

We are talking about thousands of dead on the territory of Turkey and Syria. Entire neighborhoods were destroyed. This is the most powerful earthquake in Turkey in the last 100 years.

President Zelenskyy expressed his condolences to the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Turkish people and the families of the victims and offered the Turkish side help in overcoming the disaster. The Embassy of Ukraine in Turkey is checking the presence of Ukrainian citizens among the victims of the earthquake.
