The Peugeot company held a festive E-Day, where it shared its own development plans for the coming years. Among the most interesting promising directions is the launch of a new generation of the popular Peugeot 3008 SUV and its electric version Peugeot e-3008.

Moreover, this novelty should be the first to be built on the STLA Medium platform. Among other things, such a platform involves the use of large batteries that should provide a mileage of up to 700 km on one full charge of the battery. Immediately after the debut of the Peugeot 3008 and Peugeot e-3008, the time will come for the presentation of the larger Peugeot 5008 model – this SUV should also receive an electric version of the Peugeot e-5008.

In addition, the company also talked about other novelties with an electric drive. First, we are talking about the Peugeot e-408 and Peugeot e-308 SW electric cars – it is already known that the station wagon will receive an electric motor with a capacity of 115 kW (156 hp) and will be able to cover up to 400 km on one full charge of the battery.

Second, more electrified versions are also expected for compact models such as the Peugeot 208 and Peugeot 2008. They are currently available with traditional petrol and diesel engines, or as an electric car. But now it’s the turn of the intermediate variant – it will be a hybrid built on the basis of a 1.2-liter gasoline engine (100/136 hp) and with the addition of an electric motor (29 hp), and a 6-speed AMT transmission with a double clutch will be used.

According to the calculations of Peugeot representatives, such a hybrid will reduce fuel consumption by 15% compared to conventional gasoline versions, significantly reduce the level of emissions of harmful gases, and also provide the ability to cover up to 1 km exclusively on electric drive – this will be useful in city traffic jams. It is certain that the appearance of hybrid versions will be tied to the planned update of the Peugeot 208 and Peugeot 2008 models, which should take place soon.
