During the meeting of the presidents of Ukraine, Lithuania, and Poland in Lviv as part of the Lublin Triangle, the President of Poland Andrzej Duda said that Ukraine will finally receive Western tanks.

“President Andrzej Duda in Lviv: Ukraine will receive a company of Leopard tanks from the international coalition. Such a decision has already been taken in Poland.”

It is not yet known which tanks and when the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive, or who will provide them. A tank company is 10 tanks, but the main thing here is the beginning, other countries will catch up. And although Andrzej Duda is talking about Leopard tanks, it is clear that he is talking about Leopard 2.

As of the end of 2022, the Polish Ground Forces have 249 Leopard 2 tanks of various modifications, including the Leopard 2A5 and Leopard 2PL / Leopard 2PLM1 versions, that is, purely Polish upgrades. Leopard 2PL and Leopard 2PLM1 received improved armor, new optics, and communications.
