Good sound quality of wireless headsets is still on the agenda of many equipment manufacturers. OPPO is also working on improving the sound quality and presented a custom MariSilicon Y Bluetooth chip, which should transmit sound no worse than a wired connection.

It should be noted right away that this is not the company’s first chip. Earlier, it also started using the image processing ISP MariSilicon X. But MariSilicon Y should help with sound.

OPPO has found an opportunity to transmit audio via Bluetooth without loss of quality

With a bandwidth of up to 12 Mbps, it is able to transmit audio in 24-bit/192 kHz lossless quality. This is currently the best indicator in the industry. And, of course, we couldn’t do without our own AI codec — URLC (ultra-resolution lossless codec). It allows you to process spatial audio and isolate the sounds of individual objects.

The company also claims that all this can be achieved with a 66% reduction in energy consumption with a much smaller chip size.
