Mazda is gradually releasing more and more information about its upcoming flagship Mazda CX-90 SUV. The car is currently expected to be announced as a 2024 model year version – meaning it should debut as early as 2023. It is also known that the Mazda CX-90 SUV will receive in-line 6-cylinder engines. And recently there was another hint – about the appearance of a PHEV version: that is, a hybrid with the possibility of recharging.

The technical specifications of such a PHEV-hybrid are unknown (like other Mazda CX-90 variants in general). However, it is possible to use hybrid equipment from the Mazda CX-60 model, which offers 327 hp. power and 500 Nm of torque. But the key difference between the Mazda CX-90 and the Mazda CX-60 will be increased dimensions and a 3-row interior design – that is, we will get a large family SUV.

So, according to all the “hints”, it turns out that the Mazda CX-90 should replace the Mazda CX-9 in the model range. After all, we will find out all the details later, we don’t have long to wait – until 2023.
