2022 can hardly be called breakthrough for the gaming industry. What do we remember first? Several powerful releases: God of War Ragnarok, Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West. And also the niche Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and the cute Stray about the adventures of the cat.
The long-awaited S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2 has been postponed indefinitely, but it is hoped that it will be released next year. In this small selection, I also decided to mention some other interesting games due out in 2023, which I think are really worth waiting for.
Hogwarts Legacy
Next year, the game series in the universe of Joan Rowling will finally get a new powerful project. In Hogwarts Legacy you will play for a student at the school of wizardry Hogwarts, but about 100 years before the events of Harry Potter.

This is already the 13th part of the series and the developers promise that it will be very similar to the early releases. Wall jumps, stealth missions, hidden weapon assassinations, and everything that once helped Altaïr the asassin capture our hearts.
True, even in the company itself, this part is recognized as not “the most significant”, but if you missed the atmosphere of the early series, then you should like Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Resident Evil 4 Remake
This time Capcom decided to update the fourth part, which was released back in 2005 year on Playstation 2. Over the next 7 years, the game was released on other game platforms, becoming one of the most iconic horror games in history.
In Resident Evil 4 Remake, the creators promise to keep the atmosphere, but reboot the plot and, of course, improve the mechanics and graphics.

Starfield
A new game from the creators of the Falloutseries and The Elder Scrolls can be both the discovery of the year and the failure. In June, Bethesda showed the world the first and gameplay trailer. Most reviewers agreed that the game is promising, but from the first frames it resembles Fallout in space.
It seems like nothing is wrong, but there is a risk that fans will not be comfortable with such obvious self-copying.
The game will send us to the year 2330 to a part of the galaxy that is 50 world years from the solar system. In the distant future, the world has experienced an extreme war, which has made some parts of the galaxy dangerous.
The main character is an employee of the Constellation organization, who is engaged in space research. You will lead a group of explorers, travel by ship from planet to planet, and fight in open space.
The creators promise to impress us with a huge scale and incredible detail.

Dead Island 2
Fans of the first parts of Dead Island almost gave up hope of seeing a sequel, but almost 10 years later it will still happen.
The zombie-killing project has survived four developer changes, a freeze, and even rumors of the series’ death, but eventually it was finally brought to life by the British Dambuster development team – the main part of this team once released the well-known Crysis under the Crytek banner.
The map in Dead Island 2 will consist of different areas of the same city. You move through the plot to open new areas. Each area will have unique zombies, and your hero will have the ability to upgrade skills using the skill deck.
The main feature of the game is a weapon that you can craft yourself and make something unique and sadistic out of various items. And it may also break.
The developers promise new physics and want to make the best game in history with an emphasis on hand-to-hand combat.

Lies of P
One of the most original projects of the coming year. The plot of the RPG will be built around The Adventures of Pinocchio, but the Korean developers tried and made it in a very dark atmosphere.
It all starts with the puppet Pinocchio waking up in an abandoned railway station in the town of Krat and starts looking for his father Giuseppe, but on the way he meets mysterious monsters who want blood. The trick of the game is that your actions and lies affect the course of the plot. As the developers say, lying here is not only possible, but also necessary.
A long road awaits you on the roofs, streets, and corners of the city, where you will be attacked by various monsters. You can kill them through a well-thought-out combat system, and Pinocchio’s body parts can be modified on the go by upgrading the puppet.
This approach to a well-known story definitely makes it worthy of attention.
