The popular macOS image editor has been updated to Pixelmator 3.2 Lumière, which includes video editing, among other things. The new version is now available in the Mac App Store.

Now you can do basic video editing in Pixelmator: remove excess, resize, edit colors, apply masks, overlay text, and more.

The program supports various recording formats, including mp4 and QuickTime Movie, and can export animated images and png. When exporting, there are additional settings for quality, frame rate, Apple ProRes format, etc.

Pixelmator Pro 3.2 has received the functions of a video editor

A set of templates is provided for when you need to develop a design for a video. They can be edited and personalized to your liking.

The new Pixelmator also lets you import Live Photos as videos and has expanded support for Motion files, which can now be exported with additional layers.

Pixelmator Pro 3.2 Lumière is a Mac App Store exclusive and is offered as a free upgrade to those who have already purchased the application. For everyone who wants to try it, there is a trial version on the manufacturer’s website. It is also currently available for purchase at a 50% discount for $19.99.
