The Pantone Color Institute named the color of the year 2023, PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta.

PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta is a crimson red tone “representing a balance between warm and cool.”

“Viva Magenta 18-750 vibrates with vim and vigor. It is a shade rooted in nature descending from the red family and expressive of a new signal of strength. Viva Magenta is brave and fearless, a pulsating color whose exuberance promotes a joyous and optimistic celebration, writing a new narrative,” says the message on the PANTONE website.

PANTONE is the developer and owner of patented professional color standards and digital solutions for the design industry. PANTONE has been choosing colors of the year since 2000. Twice a year, the company holds a secret meeting of representatives of various national color standardization groups in one of the European capitals. After two days of presentations and debates, they choose a color for the following year.

As a reminder, the color of 2022 was named Pantone 17-3938 Very Peri – “a dynamic periwinkle blue hue with a vivifying violet red undertone.”
