Iran is preparing to transfer ballistic missiles and additional UAVs to Russia
According to information from many sources, including CNN and Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in early November 2022 Russia is to receive additional UAVs and short-range ballistic missiles from Iran.
This means at least 200 Shahed-136, Mohajer-6 and Arash-2 drones and an unspecified number of ballistic missiles.
“UAVs will be delivered via the Caspian Sea to the port of Astrakhan. Drones will arrive in a disassembled state. In the future, on the territory of the Russian Federation, they will be assembled, repainted and applied with Russian markings, in particular Geran-2,”informed the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense.
“If the Shahed-136 drones are, unfortunately, already well known to us, then the Mohajer-6 is a more classic UAV of the Bayraktar TB2 type, which is designed for both reconnaissance and strikes with its own bombs and missiles. But Arash-2 is also a kamikaze drone, which has a declared range of up to 2,000 km, carries a warhead of 260 kg and can detect radar radiation, because it was modernized precisely to suppress air defense systems”.
According to officials, the Russians have already used the last batch of drones, which included about 450 drones, so they are waiting for new deliveries from their terrorist accomplices.
As for the missiles, we are talking about Iranian short-range ballistic missiles Fateh-110 and Zolfaghar, which are capable of hitting targets at a distance of 300 and 700 km. Both missiles are equipped with a warhead weighing close to 500 kg and have high accuracy – the probable circular deviation is 3-5 m. Unfortunately, we do not have the means to combat ballistic missiles, although the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces promises to do everything possible to intercept these threats with the available air defense means.
“We will use all means of defense against these missiles. Presumably, they will be delivered to the north of Ukraine, from where they can be launched to threaten the whole of Ukraine. One missile has a range of 300 km, the other – 700 km. These are ballistic missiles. We do not have effective protection against them. It is theoretically possible to shoot them down, but in fact it is very difficult to do it with the means we have at our disposal,” said Yuriy Ignat, spokesman for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The US is considering all options to prevent the supply of Iranian weapons to Russia, but so far they have not yielded results. So, most likely in November, we should expect another massive attack on Ukrainian critical infrastructure and prepare for long blackouts.
