The Witcher Remake is in development and will use Unreal Engine 5

This is reported by CD PROJEKT RED on the official website of The Witcher. According to them, the development of The Witcher Remake – “a remake of the game that started it all” – is still in the early stages. The Polish studio Fool’s Theory is working on it, in which “veterans of The Witcher series are involved”, while CD PROJEKT RED itself provides full creative supervision over the process.

The publisher admits that The Witcher Remake is the project codenamed Canis Majoris that was previously posted about. In the official announcement, the company repeatedly emphasizes that work on the project is still at an early stage, and asks fans of the series to be patient. No additional information will be made public yet.
