Grammarly, which develops an online platform to help with effective written communication in English, announced the launch of recommendations that will help adapt the tone of written communication. Advanced hints will complement the functionality of the tone detector and allow you to rephrase whole sentences to adapt the message’s tone.

Grammarly introduced the tone detector feature in 2019. It uses a combination of rules and machine learning to identify cues in text that shape its overall tone. By analyzing word choice, phrasing, punctuation, and even capitalization, it can determine what impression a message is likely to make on its reader.

Users will be able to view recommendation options in a panel that will offer them to independently choose the appropriate option for a particular message or context.

Advanced tone customization functionality is now available to users of Grammarly Premium and will gradually launch for Grammarly Business and Grammarly for Education services.
