Sad news for those who do not want to switch to new operating systems – Google announced that it intends to release the latest version of the Google Chrome browser for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 early next year.

To be more precise, it will most likely happen on February 7, 2023 – it is on this date that Chrome 110, which will be the last “Chrome” for old Microsoft OSes, is scheduled to be released. This decision is related to the end of official support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 ESU (Extended Security Update), which will take place on January 10, 2023.

Google notes that older versions of Chrome will work on Windows 7/8.1 and beyond, but will no longer receive updates on those OSes, and advises all users to upgrade to a supported version of Windows in advance.
