This weekend, Steam set a new online record: for the first time in history, more than 30 million players were on it at the same time. To be more precise, on Sunday around 17:00 Kyiv time, SteamDB recorded 30,032,005 users online on the Steam platform (there were approximately 8.5 million in games).

The number of simultaneous users on Steam exceeded 30 million

This year, Steam’s peak online over the weekend has typically been 27-29 million users, with the previous peak (29,986,681) being in late March. In recent years, there has been a trend of a relative decrease in online activity in the summer (apparently, good weather successfully “competes” with video games for players’ free time), so we can expect that this record will be broken more than once in the coming months.
