The recent upgrade of the operating system for the iPhone is primarily aimed at improving personalization. But the company still has a lot of work to do, because not all the announced functions appeared in the system right away. Today, Apple will continue to introduce new OS features with the next iOS 16.1 update.

Among the refinements and innovations, you can find useful things. For example, iCloud Shared Photo Library will allow you to create albums with access to 5 people who can add, review, edit and perform other actions with photos. This is convenient, say, on vacation with friends, where everyone will be able to fill the album with their own pictures and videos, and will save the company from the annoying request to “download photos”.

Personally, I’m more looking forward to Live Activities for third-party apps. This is a small widget that can show on the lock screen, for example, how a sporting event is happening and its results, when a taxi or food delivery is approaching, etc. Of course, not everything will be supported immediately, but over time it will be a convenient feature that will eliminate unnecessary taps with urgent questions.

The company places great emphasis on the appearance of the Fitness+ service for iPhone without the need for an Apple Watch. iPhone, iPad, and AppleTV users will also receive new courses led by famous athletes, but also accompanied by showbiz stars and even astronaut Eileen Collins.

The Clean Energy Charging item will appear in the battery settings. Learning the user’s habits, the iPhone will try to charge at a time when there is less load on the power supply system (which sounds very relevant in the current environment).

iPhone will try to reduce your carbon footprint by selectively charging when lower carbon emission electricity is available. The iPhone learns from your daily charging routine so it can reach full charge before you need to use it.

It was also previously reported that many users will wait for the redesigned battery charge indicator, which, together with the percentage remaining, will dynamically show the change in energy reserve.

And along with that, support for the new standard of “smart” home gadgets — Matter — will appear. New devices can be added to the proprietary Home application and controlled from there.

Unfortunately, not all services will be immediately available for Ukrainian users. But let’s hope that Apple will hurry up with this issue. You can traditionally check for an update starting at approximately eight o’clock in the evening Kyiv time.
