E-residency will be launched in Ukraine, which will allow foreigners to open a business online, without a physical presence in the country. The Verkhovna Rada supported the corresponding bill No. 5270 in the second reading by 252 votes. Now it must be approved by the President’s signature.

According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, foreigners will be able to obtain e-residency after the following steps:

  1. Apply online for e-residency status;
  2. Pass an inspection in accordance with current legislation;
  3. Go through identification at a consular institution, get a taxpayer identification number and an electronic signature.
  4. Open a bank account and register yourself as a business owner.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation says that they are already developing a web version and a mobile application using digital signature cloud technologies for e-residents.
