Sad news – Sony announced price increases for both versions of the PlayStation 5 console, digital and “disc”, in almost all regions of the world: in Europe, on Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, Latin America and Canada. It’s probably easier to point out where the PS5 price won’t change — in the US.

So from now on, the price of the digital PS5 in Europe will be €449.99, with a Blu-ray disc drive – €549.99, that is, €50 more than the original price. In Great Britain, the price will increase by about 6%; worst of all, Sony did with its own market — in Japan, the price will jump by as much as 21%.

According to the company, it is forced to take such a step due to the difficult situation of the global economy, high inflation rates around the world and other unfavorable currency trends that negatively affect the industry.
