House of the Dragon is the first prequel to the Game of Thrones expanded universe and debuted this weekend on HBO Max streaming. The premiere turned out to be so big that some users of the service encountered technical problems.

Based on posts on Twitter, Reddit and others on social media, it appeared that most of the people who were having problems were using an Amazon Fire TV or Fire Stick device to watch. Why did they have the most problems?

In a statement, submitted to The Verge, HBO’s Chris Willard said, “House of the Dragon is being successfully viewed by millions of HBO Max subscribers this evening. We’re aware of a small portion of users attempting to connect via Fire TV devices that are having issues and are in the process of resolving for those impacted users.”

In Ukraine, House of the Dragon can also be watched officially, its broadcast is provided by the MEGOGO service, but the rights to the series in our region still belong to the russian Amediateka. At least the first episode on MEGOGO is only available with English and Russian soundtracks. We have contacted the streaming press office about adding Ukrainian dubbing and will publish a response when it arrives.
