Netflix’s new ad-supported subscription plan won’t let users download shows and movies to their devices for offline viewing. This is evidenced by the code found in the streaming service’s iPhone app, reports Bloomberg.

Netflix has avoided introducing advertising until recently. However, the company now plans to launch a new ad-supported plan by early next year. Hints of the new service can already be found in the iPhone app’s code, and it looks like the new plan will be very different from what’s available now.

The code was discovered by developer Steve Moser. He also learned that users won’t be able to skip ads and that playback controls won’t be available during ad breaks.

“Downloads are available on all plans except Netflix with ads,” reads text in the app’s code, which Moser discovered.
