It looks like the transition of the famous royal PUBG’s battle for free-to-play‘s distribution model in January benefited it. According to the publisher of PUBG, the South Korean company Krafton, after that, an average of about 80,000 new players joined the game every day. Krafton tells about this in its preliminary report on earnings in the first half of 2022.

A simple calculation suggests that in this case more than 17 million new PUBG accounts were created in half a year – most likely, most of them did not stay in the game for long, however, the report also notes that “the average income from of users increased by more than 20% every quarter.” PUBG Mobile is also doing very well, with Krafton stating that it is currently the “second best-selling global mobile game”.
