In early June, during the Netflix Geeked Week event, the animated series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was announced. At the same time, the first trailer and a short “exclusive clip” of the anime produced by the Japanese studio Trigger were shown.

The release of the series is getting closer, and Trigger yesterday released a full trailer for the 10-episode anime, which introduces viewers to the main characters and shows off the level of animation inherent in the studio. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tells its own story, in no way related to the plot of Cyberpunk 2077 – about a young man who grew up on the streets and became a mercenary to survive in a futuristic city obsessed with technology and body modification.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners should appear on Netflix already in September. While waiting, you can re-watch anime classics in cyberpunk style, for example, Akira, Serial Experiments Lain, or Ghost in the Shell. To have something to compare with, so to speak.
