ASUS officially showed the flagship smartphone Zenfone 9, photos and specifications of which began to hit the Internet a few weeks ago. They turned out to be true, the model is built on the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform, has updated cameras, a 4300 mAh battery, and an AMOLED screen with a frequency of 120 Hz.

Zenfone 9 received a completely new design with four pastel colors and a special texture on the rear plastic panel that makes the case less slippery. In addition, the smartphone has protection against water and dust according to the IP68 standard.

The updated design of the Zenfone 9 features a significantly upgraded dual camera system with Sony IMX 766 50MP modules with a new 6-axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer, Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), and Super Fast AF technology for sharp photos and shake-free videos. There’s also a 12-megapixel IMX 363 ultra-wide camera and a 12-megapixel front-facing IMX 663 camera for selfies and video chats.

Zenfone 9 is the most compact smartphone with the flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, so its ASUS ZenUI 9 interface (on Android 12) is also optimized for one-handed use. The device received a multifunctional ASUS ZenTouch side power button, which includes a fingerprint sensor for quick unlocking and supports gesture control.

Mobile Platform Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 in the Zenfone 9 is complemented by up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 built-in memory. ASUS promises that the Zenfone 9 is cooler under load than its predecessor, thanks to a completely updated cooling system. The smartphone uses a high-tech vapor chamber instead of heat pipes and has an advanced heat spreader that uses copper, graphite sheets and thermal paste.

The 5.9-inch AMOLED display of the smartphone received a frequency of 120 Hz, color accuracy Delta E < 1, a wide color gamut of 115% sRGB and 112% DCI-P3. To calibrate the screen, ASUS partnered with Pixelworks, an image processing company. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

ASUS Zenfone 9 received a 4300 mAh battery and supports 30-watt HyperCharge fast charging.
