The difference was noticed by users who participate in the Insider test program. In the latest test version of the Xbox “dashboard”, the loading time from the “cold” state was reduced by a few seconds.
Later, Microsoft confirmed that this is indeed the case, and this was achieved not by any major code optimizations, but by… replacing the boot animation. Xbox Director of Integrated Marketing Josh Munsee announced that the company has created a shorter animation (~4 seconds instead of nine), and it made it possible to speed up the loading of consoles. Now it takes about 15 seconds instead of 20.
The change will be felt by users who put the console into power-saving mode instead of standby. It already has an Xbox Series X/S that turns on very quickly.
