The White House will issue a commemorative coin on honor of Zmiinyi Island defenders

The White House gift shop announced the release of a commemorative coin in honor of the defenders of Zmiinyi Island. The coin will go on sale on September 30, 2022 and will cost $100.

Pre-order is already open, and the number of such souvenirs is limited.

The coin in honor of Zmiinyi is the fourth consecutive coin of the Historic Moments of the American Presidency Coin Collection series, which is dedicated to Ukraine.  The first coin was dedicated to President Volodymyr Zelensky, the second to Zelensky’s speech before the US Congress, the third to US First Lady Jill Biden and Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska.

The White House gift shop has been issuing commemorative coins in honor of various events since 2018. For example, as many as 25 commemorative coins were issued during the last two years of Donald Trump’s presidency, and nine during Joe Biden’s presidency.
