In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 there will be no Russian voice acting, but only English and Ukrainian. The game was postponed to 2023
A year ago, GSC Game World released the first trailer for the sequel to its cult game S.T.A.L.K.E.R., then called S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl with the name of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant from Russian transliteration. In addition, Ukrainian fans were outraged that the game had Russian voice acting, its presence was even emphasized by a separate trailer, but there was no Ukrainian. However, the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine changed the position of GSC Game World.
To get started the studio has renamed the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl with finally Ukrainian transliteration, and now fans of the series have noticed that information about Russian voice acting has disappeared from the game’s website. The localization section states that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will have English and Ukrainian voice acting, there will be no Russian, but there will be subtitles.
Russian players from this information were really mad, so thank you GSC Game World for the good news. Developers can be supported by pre-ordering the game, but it is worth noting that at the presentation Xbox has casually revealed that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was postponed to 2023, and later the studio itself confirmed this information to PC Gamer.
“It happened a little earlier than expected, we actually planned to reveal it in the coming days,” said Zakhar Bocharov of GSC. “But yes, the game will be released in 2023.”
Information about the release of the game in 2023, but without a specific release date, has also already appeared on the studio’s website, so we’ll be waiting for more news from it.
